A day later, when we were giving final shape to the proposal to form Aaponjon Sangha and discussing the nuances of our new project Brototi boudi, who was sitting with one leg over another and chin being supported by her palm interjects to say: “What’s about Bondhu Mahal”.

All eyes turned towards her.

The gaze of so many pairs of eyes probably made her conscious. She sat straight. While creasing hairs with her fingers she said: “The idea just crossed my mind whether we can call our organization as Bondhu Mahal as this name stresses on Bondhu (friends).”

“Nice name,” BM Da said again throwing a glance at Brototi Boudi. The appreciation for his wife was again evident in his eyes.

“Yes, this is better name. Bondhu word would gel better with non-Bengali friends than Aaponjon,” Alpona Boudi said.

“So, what should be the name of our organization,” Sen da asked raising his hand in air like a football referee trying to bring a semblance of peace in the playing field.

“Bondhu Mahal” shouted everyone.

And thus the Bondhu Mahal came to existence.
