As the days of Durga Puja were nearing the nervousness among the members of Bondhu Mahal was palpable. Everyone knew that this year’s celebration was testing time for Bondhu Mahal. We knew people have high expectations from us after the success of our maiden Durga Puja celebration and series of functions we organized thereafter. People have started recognizing Bondhu Mahal as the only club in Lucknow which is into social work.

“The USP of our Puja should be providing religious fervor at the Pandal. The high point is we are organizing this Puja inside the compound of a house so the family connection should be there,” R G Pramanik, who was unanimously named President of Bondhu Mahal Durga Puja Committee.

Everyone knew that footfall will increase. Everyone knew that number of devotees taking bhog will increase and number of Ashtami Puja will increase too. It actually increased. This showed the popularity of Bondhu Mahal is on the upswing.

We made a good beginning when we gave a new look to puja Brochure. Ours was the only Durga Puja brochure in Lucknow that had a mix of tradition and modernity. The decoration of the Pandal matched the theme of our Puja – which was Educate Girl Child.
