Bondhu Mahal Sponsors Education of Poor Students
In its social endeavor Bondhu Mahal has sponsored education of 22 poor children who had dropped out because their parents did not have money to finance their education.
All these 22 students, 11 of whom are girls, are students of Boy’s Anglo Bengali Inter College. Vice-president of Bondhu Mahal R.G. Paramanik handed over a cheque covering annual fees of these students to the Principal of the college A.K. Kirti at a function held here.
“The college is indebted to Bondhu Mahal for extending help to these poor students who will now be able to continue their study. This seems a small gesture but will illuminate the lives of many poor students,” Kirti said.
The students are from class 7 to class 12 and 10 of them are from minority community.
Paramanik said that Bondhu Mahal had always worked for the welfare of the society. “It organizes blood donation camps. Last year we distributed stationary among the poor students in state-run school but this time we decided to sponsor education of poor students,” he said.
“The Bondhu Mahal has paid the annual fees of these 22 students in one go so that they do not have to wonder about education this academic session,” he said.
