In this Bengali New Year (Poila Boishakh), the Bondhu Mahal extended a helping hand to Kali Bari Puja Committee in Manas Bihar, Indira Nagar, Lucknow when we donated a small amount of Rs 10,001 for the construction of temple. It was small gesture. But all the members of the Bondhu Mahal wanted something to be done for the Bengali organizations in Indira Nagar.

So, the beginning was made on April 19 when we Bondhus celebrated New Year with fun and frolic at Puja park, opposite Khadi Ashram, in Bhootnath, in Indira Nagar.

What a function it was when the Bengalis of India Nagar, Gomti Nagar and Ravindra Palli joined hands with our non-Bengali friends to celebrate the day. Gopal Da, and local talent like Mr Biswas of Vivekanad Durga Puja Committee and A.K. Banerjee of Sector 13 doled out songs – both Bengali and Hindi which kept the audience riveted to their seats.

During this day we also took an opportunity to honour Dr Anil Kumar, Head, Blood Bank, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, for extending all help in Blood Donation camp organized by Bondhu Mahal on January 23, 2014 at the same venue.

The night ended with gala dinner.
