I Am Brand Ambassador of Bondhu Mahal: Urban Development Minister
The Bondhu Mahal did it once again. This year too, like last years, we sponsored education of poor students of Boys' Anglo Bengali Inter College. Thirty students from class 9th to 12th received fee waiver so that they could continue their study.
The icing on cake was that Bondhu Mahal honoured 12 teachers of the state-run schools for the exemplary work they had done in the education sector. The credit to identify them goes to Sudhir Sehgal.
The biggest achievement for Bondhu Mahal was that we found a brand ambassador in form of Urban development Minister Ashutosh Tandon. “The State government is doing its bit. But it is not possible to reach every nook and cornor. The organisations like Bondhu Mahal indirectly help the government in carrying forward our social responsibility,” Tandon said.
“I am now a brand ambassador of Bondhu Mahal. As minister I go to different places and I talk about Bondhu Mahal as how it is helping poor students through scholarships and distribution of stationery,” the minister said.
He also appreciated the work being done by Bondhu Mahal. “They not only organise Puja but also fulfil their social commitment from the money they saved from Durga Puja, the minister said.
Principal of Boys' Anglo Bnegali Inter College Kirti said that Bondhu Mahal has shown path for other Durga Puja Committees. If all committees adopt a school and finance education of needy from their Puja funds it would transform lives of poor students.
Corporator Dilip Srivastava also spoke on this occasion.
The teachers who were felicitated were: Hari Ram Jaiswal, MeenaMaurya, Shweta Shukla, Ajita Singh, Kusumnlata tripathi, Rashim Kher, Smriti Bharadwaj, Mohini Abha, Shiksh Singh, Smriti Singh, Vikrant Gupta and Manish Khare.
Sudhir Sehgal was convener of the function.
