Rain and cold did not deter volunteers as 41 of them donated blood

Braving rains and icy cold winds members of the Bondhu Mahal donated blood in a blood donation camp organised on the occasion of 122nd Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in which 41 volunteers donated blood.

The function was held at Rajendra Singh Memorial Park, B Block Indira Nagar. The camp was organised in collaboration with Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Inaugurating the camp local BJP general secretary Vijay bahadur Pathak said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s life is an example how one can excel in life despite odds. He had only one motto to serve his motherland and he fulfilled it till his last breath, he said.

Pathak also donated blood on this occasion. “Donating blood shows your active participation,” he said.

Local corporator Dilp Srivastava was also present on this occasion.

President of Bondhu Mahal Alok Kumar Nigam said that Bondhu Mahal organises these functions from the money it saves from Durga Puja. These functions show our commitment towards society.

This is the seventh year in a row since Bondhu Mahal is organizing Blood donation camp. This year 41 volunteers donated blood 11 of which were women.
