It is not very long back when Bondhu Mahal was formed and this December 25 it completed Six years. It has travelled a long journey in such a short span of time. This was a matter of pride and we all Bondhus – as the custom – celebrated the Sthapana Diwas (Foundation Day). It was picnic for us and the venue was Picnic Spot in Musa bagh.

This year Chandan Das and Ghosh Da (Sushanto) almost single handedly made arrangements for the picnic. The contribution was collected, purchasing was done and on December 25 Chandan was the FIRST to reach the venue at 8 am despite morning was foggy.

The members swayed under the spirit of `Bondhutava’ . The men played game while the women, as is their wont, were chatter boxes. But they played Housie and other game.

The silver lining in this year’s celebration was involvement of `boys’. They conducted sporting events under the watchful eyes of DB Sen Da. When everyone chipped in the result was bound to be a sweet – and it was actually yummy and sweet like the cake which our President and Secretary cut to celebrate the day.
