100 Poor Students Get Stationery From Bondhu Mahal
Continuing with its social endeavour, social organization Bondhu Mahal distributed stationery among 100 poor children on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
The function was held at Rajendra Singh Memorial Park in Indira Nagar on Saturday. Students of Rabindranath Tagore High School were presented stationery by Bondhu Mahal president Alok Kumar Nigam.
“The organisation provides stationery to poor children from the money it saves from Durga Puja celebrations held every year. The children we selected are students of primary section and from BPL families,” secretary BM Chakraborty said.
“The poor students get books from the government but they do not get copies and other stationery items. So, we decided to give stationery to 100 children stationery on the occasion of Poila Boishakh,” he added .
Manager of Rabindranath Tagore High School Milan Yadav said the help extended to the students would go a long way in kindling a light of knowledge in the impressionable minds of children.
The stationery compromises drawing copies, note books, pencils, crayons, erasers and sharpeners.
