Saving earning from Dura Puja, the Bondhu Mahal sponsored education of 30 poor students of Boys Anglo Bengali Inter College in a function held here.
 
The cheque was handed over to the principal of the college A.K. Kirti by senior Member of the Bondhu Mahal N N Srivastava. The corporator of the area Dilip Srivastava was the chief guest of the function.
 
President of Bondhu Mahal Durga Puja Committee RG Pramanik said that it has been the endeavour of our club to promote education.
 
“During Bengali New year we distribute stationary among poor children and now we are sponsoring education through money saved during Durga Puja. On January 23 we organize Blood donation camp during Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birthday,” he said.
 
Kirti said that Bondhu Mahal is the only organisation  which saves money in Durga Puja and uses the same in education of poor children.
 
“The organizations like Boy’s Anglo Bengali Inter College will benefit a lot if all the durga puja committees across Lucknow take up such noble cause and use money saved through Durga Puja in kindling light of knowledge among poor houses,” he said.
 
Dilip Srivastava also praised Bondhu Mahal saying he had never seen as Durga Puja Committee utilizing money in such a nobel cause.
 
Among the 30 students whose education was sponsored by Bondhu Mahal 20 are girl students.
