Tree Plantation on I-Day

tree plantation on i day

The Bondhu Mahal celebrated 70th Independence Day of India with a style by planting over 30 saplings at the Rajendra Singh memorial park at B-block, India Nagar in collaboration with Residents Welfare Association. Secretary of the Association S.K. Saxena was spirit behind this campaign who motivated Bondhu Mahal to plant trees in that park where we hold several programme.

Once the decision was taken to plant sapling on Independence Day helping hand emerged from all quarters. Vijay Wantoo sahib donated two need saplings. Mr S.K. Upadhaya, a senior resident of the locality came up with valued suggestions and we were all geared up for the occasion.

Saplings of neem, harsingar, kaner and asoka were brought from nursery day in advance. On August 15 despite it rained we members assembled at the park at designated time. Saxena sahib, in his ingenious style, managed a flag post to hoist Tri-colour. Our chief guest Dilip Srivastava too reached the park well in time despite rains.

With patriotic fervor National flag was hoisted and then plantation drive was kicked –off. The beginning was made with plantation of neem tree and then one by one other saplings – har singar, kaner and asoka were planted.

On that very day the brochure of our Durga Puja was released by senior members.
